Coca-Cola, Acura Websites Crashed During Super Bowl

The New England Patriots weren’t the only ones who choked Sunday night. Websites from Coca-Cola, Acura and film Act of Valor crashed Sunday night after being overwhelmed by Super Bowl ad-driven traffic. In Coke’s case, a Facebook app featuring animated polar bears in the ads buckled under the strain. Microsoft web sites could be blocked in India

Microsoft and many other major Internet companies could have some of their sites blocked in India. ZDNet reports that Delhi’s High Court warned Microsoft as well as Facebook, Yahoo, Google and others that they risked having their sites blocked if they did not check and censor their content. On Friday, the Indian government sanctioned the actions of Delhi's High Court. More web sites and games going dark to protest SOPA

Even though opponents of the proposed Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) won a big victory on Friday when it was announced that the DNS blocking provision would be removed from the bill, it looks like the idea of shutting down web sites to protest the bill is gaining steam.
