Coca-Cola, Acura Websites Crashed During Super Bowl

The New England Patriots weren’t the only ones who choked Sunday night. Websites from Coca-Cola, Acura and film Act of Valor crashed Sunday night after being overwhelmed by Super Bowl ad-driven traffic. In Coke’s case, a Facebook app featuring animated polar bears in the ads buckled under the strain. On the other hand, Kia’s site had the most reliable, fastest performance of all Super Bowl advertisers Sunday night, according to Yottaa, a website optimization firm. Whether or not Apple won CES without even being there, they’re certainly trying. None of the leaked details are particularly new, but that it comes from Bloomberg and they’ve seemingly got full confidence in their source(s) makes them a bit more credible than rumors prior. Here’s the gist of it: The next iPad (Bloomberg calls it “iPad 3″, though even ...

iPhone 4S launch in China greeted with egg throwing

Launches of previous versions of the iPhone have been greeted with large crowds at times. However, the crowd of approximately 500 people waiting for the Chinese launch of the iPhone 4S at Apple's official Beijing store today got a little rowdy. As Bloomberg reports, some members of the crowd started throwing eggs at the store after it was announced that the iPhone 4S would not go on sale after all. MICGadget.com reports that most of the crowd at the Beijing Apple store were in fact scalpers who will likely try to turn around and sell their iPhone ...
